The parts of me that don't fit on a résumé. I've spent as much of my life chasing precision on the water and under the night sky as I have in front of a model.

Named the National Park Service's best night-sky photograph of 2019. The Milky Way core rising behind Mt. Whitney, the highest peak in the contiguous United States.

I shoot deep-sky targets and wide nightscapes, mostly across the Eastern Sierra and on expeditions abroad. Same instinct as the day job: pull faint signal out of a noisy sky and make it legible.

Sailing

I raced with Pegasus Racing through my teens and early twenties, across one-design classes and offshore. In 2003, at fourteen, I became the youngest person ever to win an open-class sailing world championship. In 2005 I qualified for the United States Sailing Team.

Climbing & backcountry skiing

Most of my photography happens because I've hiked, climbed, or skinned somewhere to take it. Alpine rock and ice in the Sierra, and backcountry skiing when the snow is good.
